Star 88.3 Adoption Celebration!

Star 88.3's Annual Adoption Celebration is coming up on Saturday, November 3rd.  The event will be held at Sonrise Church from 1-3pm (doors will open at noon). Many adoption agencies will be there with free information for those interested in adoption. This is a free event hosted by Melissa Montana and includes live music, testimonies, videos, and a lot of fun! Light refreshments and fellowship will follow the program.

This is a great event for families considering adoption, families in the middle of an adoption, and families who have adopted in the past to come together and encourage one another! 

Orphan Sunday

Orphan Sunday is coming up on November 4th.  This is a special day set aside for us to be reminded of the millions of orphans around the world that need OUR HELP.  Visit the Orphan Sunday website and be encouraged by the video on the home page.  Ask yourself what YOU can do to help...  We may not be able to make a difference in the lives of ALL the orphans around the world, but how is God calling us to make a difference in the life of ONE?

Post-Adoptive Parents Support Group

There has been a change in dates for the Adoption Support Group held at Pathway Community Church-  

We will now only be meeting on the second Thursday of each month.  The meetings in the next few months will be October 11, November 8,  and December 13.  Meetings are at 7:00 at the church. This is a great way for any adoptive parents in our community to come together and support one another.  We hope to see you there!

I know.... the title of this post doesn't make sense!  But did you know that you can raise money for your adoption simply by purchasing items through Amazon?  And not just your own purchases, but the purchases of your friends and family members too?!  OK, so here's how you do it!  Go HERE to this amazing blog about ADOPTING WITHOUT DEBT and learn how to set up your own personal Amazon account.  The financial side of adoption can be very intimidating for some people considering adoption.  But there are SO MANY ways to fundraise, SO MANY grants and scholarships out there, and SO MANY people willing to partner with you once you start the amazing journey of adoption.  Don't let finances stand in the way of what God calls you to.  Remember-  God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called!

 

FREE INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION WEBINAR!

Thousands of Children Now Waiting for Families In a heavily populated country where history and culture are rich, thousands of children are born every day. In the People's Republic of China, some children are left abandoned without families and are awaiting adoption by a loving family. Could that be your family? These "waiting" boys and girls vary widely in age and in types of special needs. We have access to information on nearly 2,000 of these children waiting to be adopted and will share some of the particular needs of actual children during the webinar. Walk-A-Thon

Truevine is sponsoring a Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, September 8 at 9:00 am to support adoptive families and to aid the fatherless at home and around the world.

So how can you help? Here are 3 ways..

(1) Register to Walk: Go to the PCC website and click on the "Caring for Orphans" link (http://www.pccfw.org/upcoming-events/step-by-step-walk-a-thon-adoption-fundraiser). Then just follow the registration instructions to "Join the Team".

• To Contact Sponsors: Contact friends and family, and simply direct them to the PCC site ("Caring for Orphans"link) to make a donation in support of adoption. You can make a donation to support yourself as well.

· It takes just a few minutes for sponsors to make a credit card donation.
· Raise $100 or more and earn a True Vine walk-a-thon T-shirt to wear on the day of the event.

(2) DONATE HERE! Walk-a-Thon donations are made by credit card to Pathway (through a fund-raising website called Razoo), and an email receipt is provided.  All donations are tax-deductible.  If you click on the link above, then click on the blue "Donate Now" button, and it will take you into the Razoo site.  If you then look in the lower right corner of the page, you'll see a list of individuals and families who have registered to walk.  You can click on any of the walkers listed and then click on the green "Donate" button in the upper right side of the page in order to support the cause.  Every little bit helps!

(3) Come Out & Walk: Join your fellow walkers for the walk:

· WHEN: Saturday, September 8th at 8:45 a.m. (The walk itself will begin at 9:00).
· WHERE: Parkview YMCA in Fort Wayne, IN (Meet in the parking lot)
· DISTANCE: Approximately 1.5 miles on a paved path

…It’s that simple. By taking just a few easy steps, you can help make a lasting impact on orphans and other children in need.
